DVR Trouble Shooting Tips

Basic Steps when Trouble Shooting:

1. Make sure you are getting power to the DVR. Are the lights on the front, flashing or lit? Is the fan running? If not, press the on/off button down in the front of the unit. If you get no response this usually means that the power supply may have gone bad.

2. Logging on: Are you logging on with the proper ID and Passwords? Make sure when you log on to make changes, that you are in administrator mode on Geovision. When you leave a store make sure the DVR's are in store level user mode.

3. Database repair will clean up a slow or sluggish running DVR. You will find this on the Windows screen as Repair log or database repair. You may have to stop recording and log in as Administrator on some machines. On some DVR's you may have to run a search from the windows screen for Database repair or Repair log. Once you get to the Repair log screen: Click All 16 Cameras Click OK . Default Path. This can take up to 1 hour in some cases to complete. When complete, hard boot the DVR by holding the main power button in for a few seconds until the unit shuts down, then press the button again to re-start.

4. On the General settings page of Geovision: Make sure Recycle button is checked; Keep days are on 30, Digital watermark is checked.
